Saturday Nite

Rainy saturday nite
cold and gloomy
looking forward to spring
three more months to go
can't come fast enough

Went out to dinner
with mom and dad
just us three
as I am single
and my parents
are getting older
my wanting to spend
time with them
increases
after dinner
for ice cream we went
dad paid
felt like a child again

Mom not feeling well
"my knee hurts"
she said
hard to walk
constant pain
arthritis
she is 74
it happens
i worry

Superbowl party
tomorrow
my mom is hosting
20 or more people
she will do all
thru pain
amazing she is

I am greatful everyday
